Martin Gabbani was born in Buenos Aires in 1981; he studied violin at the “Astor Piazzolla” National Music Conservatory of Buenos Aires.

In 2003 he got interested in Violinmaking and he enrolled at the “El Virutero” school, where he graduated in 2005.

In 2008 he obtained a scholarship from the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Buenos Aires to specialize at the International School of Violinmaking “A. Stradivari” Cremona.

During these years he improved himself on construction under the guidance of Giorgio Scolari and Massimo Negroni; and restoring with Alessandro Voltini and Claudio Amighetti. He graduated with honors and obtained the Diploma di Maestro Liutaio.

He also attended an advanced class in construction with Gianluca Zanetti and a restoring workshop with Horacio Piñeiro, the prestigious New Yorker violinmaker.

He also specialized in Baroque instruments, such as viola da gamba.

Nowadays he works in his own workshop in the historical center of Cremona and he is inspired by the classical models of the Cremonese school.
